“Pray Until Something Happens In His Name”
Scripture teaches us to go to Jesus in prayer. There are countless examples of 
His answered prayers not only in the scriptures, but also in our personal lives. It is no doubt that you have your favorite passage of scripture marked in your bible that you turn to when you pray that provides comfort and assurance that Jesus will hear your petitions and answer according to His perfect will.
Prayer has always been a fundamental part of Ringgold Baptist Church. With this knowledge and the Holy Spirit leading many to step forward to embrace different outreaches, several members of our church family also felt the lead to initiate a more organized prayer ministry for the church.
The name “PUSH I(H)N” came about when one of the members read an article that gave the acronym for “praying without ceasing” as “pray until something happens”. “In His Name” was included because of the desire of the team to be lead by His Spirit and to allow the work done to be in His name in order to give Him the glory. Hence the
PUSH I(H)N Ministry was named.
Currently we have four avenues of outreach:
One is an active prayer chain. When contacted, by e-mail or phone call, the chain is activated to petition for that need.
A second outreach is a prayer circle that meets weekly to pray and which currently meets at 7:00 pm on the same evening as our G.R.O.W. Outreach. Here we join together to pray for requests, the lost, our church and its members, its future and God’s leadership in all things.
A third outreach is to have someone praying in the conference room during Sunday morning service for the movement of the Holy Spirit during the service.
A fourth outreach is just being available to pray alongside of anyone who comes to the altar to pray.
There is so much more that can be done. We invite you to search your hearts and if you feel so led, come join the prayer ministry. There is no age or gender limits. You can pick one or all the outreaches that appeal to you. Better yet bring something new to the team to do as the Holy Spirit leads. It is an honor and privilege to go to Him in prayer and to be a part of this ministry that prays until something happens in His name “PUSH I(H)N.”
